Sky Turman

Senator of the Month

February 2023

As a Senator and Committee Chair, Sky helped keep her community directly engaged and involved by organizing SGA’s first “Speed Dating” event, where our Class Officers were able to advertise SGA’s upcoming events, initiatives, and more while speed dating. She also spearheaded our second annual “Succulents from Senators” initiative, where our Senators directly connect with the student body by giving out succulents in exchange for a concern that SGA can work on.

Get to know Sky

Sky is a Senator for the Class of 2026 and is the SGA’s Civic Engagement Committee chair. Since joining the SGA as a Senator last year, Sky has been a force to be reckoned with, specifically relating to outreach and community service. Sky always makes sure to be on top of her work while keeping her peers accountable, two traits that we value in the SGA! In the future, Sky has begun work on organizing more initiatives to keep students and our Senators engaged with their community. She is very passionate about social change, and has been able to find ways to make it during her time within SGA.

Since joining the SGA as a Senator last year, Sky has been a force to be reckoned with, specifically relating to outreach and community service.

In February, Sky was instrumental in planning multiple events, initiatives, and conversations within the SGA.As a Senator and Committee Chair, Sky helped keep her community directly engaged and involved by organizing SGA’s first “Speed Dating” event, where our Class Officers were able to advertise SGA’s upcoming events, initiatives, and more while speed dating.
